The school day drew close to an end and the two officers prepared themselves to wait just off the cost of the school’s parking lot, ditching their police vehicle for Officer Haynes' white civilian car. They sat, attentively awaiting the emersion of Mr. Reaves. Soon they spotted him exiting the school premises in his vehicle.
“Ready?” Officer Haynes asked as he started the engine, tailing Mr. Reaves from what he considered to be a safe distance.
However, from the rearview mirror, Mr. Reaves detected the white car shadowing his movements and decided to lose them in the cars ahead. Swerving in and out of the vehicles ahead, he soon lost them, leaving them with no clues as to were his next stop would be, preventing them from intercepting him.
