It was like Xavier was a different person. The way he erupted, the way he tried to control me. It was insane. I watched the way his eyes darkened, and it was exactly like Theodore had said. I felt suspicious, even as Xavier tried to refute everything. But I could hear the lies coming out of his voice and, in the end, I had stormed upstairs, telling him to go to a spare bedroom for the night. Now I am sitting on the bed, feeling out of sorts. Maybe I had been too hasty with my accusations? If Xavier had been dancing with another woman, might I have overreacted out of jealousy?
