Xavier POV
"What was so important that you felt the need to drag me away from Alyssa" I growled at my Beta, as we settled back into the limousine, my temper fraying.
"Xavier, when are you going to realize this is pointless?" my Beta's voice is loud in the limo, causing me to glower at him. "You're past the point of being able to stand the pain, one more minute and you would have buckled at the knees and fallen in front of your mate and you know it" he pointed out silkily.
I scowled, even as part of me acknowledged that the pain was continuing to worsen by the day, the longer I was away from Alyssa, the bond continued to sever, although I was determined to ensure that it didn't dissolve completely on my end.
