We went too far. This wasn't supposed to happen. We were never supposed to mark her, but my wolf, Hades, refused to wait any longer, and although I did my best to keep him at bay, to keep him from surging to the surface, he would not be denied. We had, to my shame, bitten Alyssa and licked the wound closed, claiming her as ours. The effect had been instantaneous, and she had collapsed into a dead faint.
