I slowly opened my eyes, feeling the soothing warmth covering my body. I saw Arkyn laying there, his arms protectively around me as he slept peacefully. It felt surreal, and I wonder if this is all a dream. Time and time again he’s come for me, saved me, comforted me…yet I have to make a decision of hurting him.
“Penny for your thoughts?” I heard him whisper as he slowly opened his eyes. I chuckled, realizing I’ve been caught staring. “Just wondering how I could have been so lucky” I answered. He raised an eyebrow at me, looking at me confused. “Lucky?” he questioned. I smiled, nuzzling my nose against the crook of his neck, inhaling his scent.
