Nicolas lazily stirred. It was still early but he already heard Ya-Ya up and puttering in the kitchen. Very soon the smells of her cooking would permeate the condo. He didn’t hear Jamie yet but the little boy was certain to head straight to the kitchen once he smelled breakfast.
Though it was nice to take his time in the morning and enjoy Aubrey’s warm body against his Nicolas missed the mornings when Jamie came to wake him. With a sigh he tightened his embrace keeping Aubrey’s body against his. His caressing hand slid down her arm, eventually finding her hand and the cool band of her engagement ring. Very soon she would have another ring beside it and he would have its match.
There were only a few hours left.
