“Pardon the intrusion sir,” Ezra said as he stepped into the rather dark, stately room. Dosing on the bed where he had fallen asleep over a chessboard Royce Worthington grunted and jerked awake. Ezra tugged at the heavy curtains pulling them back to let the afternoon light flood the room. Royce practically snarled. “I didn’t call for you.” “Yes sir.” “I didn’t want more light.” “Yes sir,” Ezra sighed coming to the bed. “Brunch is ready.
