“Delilah, I’m so glad to see you!” Aubrey greeted immediately pulling her into their group.
Ronni and Charlotte greeted their sister-in-law with only slight hesitation. Aubrey had forced them all to break the ice and even though she and Nicolas left early Ronni and Charlotte continued speaking to Delilah at least in informal settings allowing themselves to learn about their brother’s wife a little better.
“I’m so glad you are here,” Delilah greeted. “I missed you after you left.”
Aubrey gave her a tense smile but didn’t reply. Nicolas had been far too anxious at the family estate and they had to leave. She had also been concerned about Jamie’s peace of mind while they stayed in that toxic atmosphere. If she could get the sisters out of their shells a bit more it would be a better place
