Two Weeks Later
“There she is, hey sweetie!”
Delilah stirred from her hospital bed. It had been a long day of greeting family and well-wishers after a long and difficult birth. She wasn’t sure how much more she could take but her eyes lit up immediately when she saw Aubrey.
“Hi!”
Cradling Daniel in one arm Aubrey hurried to the bed to hug her sister-in-law. Delilah smiled at her baby nephew’s somewhat disgruntled expression before stroking his cherub-like cheeks.
“How are you feeling?” Aubrey asked perching on the edge of the bed as she adjusted Daniel into a more comfortable position while they chatted.
“Good. Tired,” Delilah sighed.
“The first one is always rough,” Aubrey said before turning her attention to the baby asleep in the cradle. “He looks just like his mama.”
