After the assembly, the Duke and I made our way to my office directly.
An elder close to the Queen requested a private audience with her. So, we let her deal with him separately. In reality, not all the elders were against the Queen, there were still those who supported her decision and followed her lead faithfully.
However, the announcement earlier shocked her supporters and non-supporters alike. I guess they didn’t expect that the Queen would step down so soon. In doing so, there would be no reason for me not to assume the role of the next king.
