I could not blame Elik because he had been exposed to danger whenever I disappeared from his sight without a word. Aside from that, I promised I wouldn't do it again, but how may I refuse the over-eager invitation of my in-laws?
We walked together in the mall with thousands of curious eyes surrounding us. “Now, you made them curious. They would likely know that the king was having an affair,” I uttered a joke to lighten the air between us.
He shook his head but still not smiling, “I’m not the one clutching her arm on the king.”
Hearing what he said, I screeched, “Oh shiit!”
I forgot. No one was supposed to hold the king. I was supposed to walk behind him, but I was walking side by side with him. My steps halted immediately.
