The rest of the evening progressed calmly. We all had time to freshen up before the evening meal was served, and a party atmosphere seemed to prevail. Around seven, I excused myself and went back to the suite I shared with Gavin. I was having a hard time dealing with the separation, missing my mate desperately. I missed his laughter. His conversation, his love, his care, his smell, his touch. I missed the feeling of home I always felt when he was around. I was exhausted, physically, mentally, and emotionally.
