The rest of the evening progressed calmly. We all had time to freshen up before the evening meal was served, and a party atmosphere seemed to prevail.
Around seven, I excused myself and went back to the suite I shared with Gavin. I was having a hard time dealing with the separation, missing my mate desperately. I missed his laughter. His conversation, his love, his care, his smell, his touch. I missed the feeling of home I always felt when he was around.
I was exhausted, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Tomorrow was going to be a very taxing day. We had a meeting in the morning with the men from the five packs. We had to put an action plan into place so they would be able to return to their packs knowing help was on the way.
