He and Corrine both studied the room that was not flooded with the light from the hallway. Seeing nothing, they closed the door, cloaking the dungeon in darkness. A shifter's eyesight is as good in the dark as in the light. The night vision of a dragon is incomparable to anything. "My pet," the hiss of Blaze's voice echoed in the room. "I know you're still here. You might as well show yourself to me. There is no escape for you. No one is looking for you. You are mine now. Just the way you were always meant to be mine." His words slithered and twined around the air, trying to find a way to penetrate my resolve. I squeezed my eyes tighter, and tried to think of something else, just to block out his words.
