He was just as terrifying as the first time I met him.
Vadim didn't hesitate — he began circling me like a predator as his men flooded the room. His eyes raked over me, assessing me like a piece of property. From behind, he gently tugged a strand of my hair, testing me. When I didn't react, he came in front of me, tipping my chin to look at him. I forced myself not to flinch or even blink. I wouldn't give him the satisfaction. He seemed to sense that, and took it a step further, pressing his thumb hard against my lips, seeing if I’d yield. I jerked away, heat flooding my face.
