Archie kept asking me what was wrong but I didn't spare a glance his way as I ran, grabbing the sides of my lilac gown so I could run faster without tripping. This cannot happen now. Not today. I dashed towards the entrance of the hall where I believe I heard the person who yelled those words. Even though I didn't answer his questions, Archie didn't give up on me. He ran behind me, hot on heels to keep up with me. Once I reached the hall, I came to an abrupt stop when I saw everyone whispering to each other in hushed voices. Some of the guests seemed to be frightened, some looked like they were expecting this- My eyes darted across the room, trying to spot my father through the sea of peopl
