I leave Dr. Argon’s office in fury. My legs drag me towards the emergency room. I peek inside through the glass window. Valerie is laying on the bed. Her thin frame is covered neatly under a blanket. Her eyes are still closed. The red liquid is pushing into her body through the needle. My heart clenches a little at the sight.
“Austin, don’t hurt her.” I hear Daniel’s voice.
I ignore him, keeping my posture calm. I can sense him standing by my side. His eyes are also glued to the girl laying inside the room.
