“What on earth is wrong with you? Why did you say those craps?” Cora shouted, giving Liam a tight blow on his shoulder.
Cora was passing by when she saw Liam and Valerie. She could hardly believe the way Liam talked to her. Valerie was definitely hurt. Her big doe-like eyes said it all. Tears filled her eyes as she spoke her last words, “Probably because I’m a gold digger. What else can you expect from an orphan like me?”
Her words broke Cora’s heart. Valerie could be anything but a gold digger. She had high self-esteem. She was different from other girls, and that’s why Cora loved her so much.
