Liam’s POV
Cora keeps crying while waiting outside of the emergency room. I hug her tightly. It has been a long day for us. Too much to take, especially for her. She is still unaware of Val’s condition. I’m not sure how she will react.
“Liam, what will happen now?” She whispers.
“I don’t know,” I reply. I have no more strength left to console myself or her.
Daniel shows up with my words. He sits beside me.
“Hey,” he mutters. He is still the only one functioning normally, maybe. Austin is all broken and I can see that very well.
“Hey,” I respond. We keep silent for a few minutes.
“Daniel, how is she?” I ask him.
“Holding up,” Daniel is trying hard to sound normal.
“How did it all happen?” He asks again. I don’t know how to reply. Cora sobs again against my chest.
