Exams were stressful and Daniel was happy to finally see the back of them, he had no idea if he passed them or not…he had a horrible sinking feeling, not. Kysenia seemed quietly confident as always, she was like that in everything she did and Daniel envied that about her. He guessed that’s what must come with being alive for so long…although he wouldn’t dare say that to her.
The trip back to see his parents went smoothly…he was glad it was winter and could cover his neck with turtlenecks, which he had gone shopping for on Kysenia’s recommendation. She had known he wasn’t ready to try and explain the collar to his parents in any sort of form, he knew they would see straight through any lies he tried to tell them about it. Staying back in his room had been weird, looking at all the posters
