As Kysenia stepped out of the car and looked up the vast steps to the large black steel doors of Skadus Castle she was shocked.
Every vampire Lord and Elder standing so conceitedly on those steps last time sunk down to their knees and kowtowed, their foreheads touching the stone, before they lifted their heads once again. Staying on their knees, their heads bowed, eyes downcast.
Daniel breathed out a shocked breath he didn’t realise he had been holding, that was an impressive sight of servitude. And she said she wasn’t a Queen!
Kysenia smiled, her cold expression easing slightly.
