Blade’s P.O.V. I shifted my weight, the soles of my boots scraping faintly against the fire station’s smooth concrete floor. The familiar hum of the station surrounded me—a distant radio squawk, the occasional clang of a tool, and the low murmur of my crew finishing their tasks for the day.
