Meghan’s P.O.V. I balanced the tray carefully as I walked back into the living room, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafting around me. I placed the steaming mugs on the coffee table in front of my dad and Bodi, who both muttered their thanks without taking their eyes off the TV that was now playing a sports game. I glanced around, my brow furrowing. Something was missing. “Where’s Mom?” I asked, my voice tinged with curiosity. “Hmm?” my dad replied distractedly, not looking away from the game. Bodi, however, barely glanced up from his phone. “She said she found some huge pillow behind the sofa and wanted to bring it to your room.” My blood ran cold. The tray clattered against the table as my mind began to piece it together. Pillow? What pillow? And then it hit me. Blade.
