Blade’s P.O.V. I paced the length of Adam’s living room, my damn frustration building like a fire that just wouldn’t burn out. I had tried everything I possibly could think of to get Meghan’s attention and be on her good side, but it was like every effort I had made had only pushed her further away from me. It was driving me insane at this point. And now, Adam was watching me pace with his usual laid-back calmness that any teacher could master, making me even more antsy because I had come over here asking for his advice, not a f*****g schrink session. “You’re wearing a hole in my new carpet, Blade,” Adam remarked, kicking his feet up onto the coffee table and leaning back with a smirk. “If I’d known this was what it took to shake you up, I would’ve brought up Meghan a long time ago.”
