So what did I learn with this novel?
This was like bringing up that third child, you let them have a lot more freedom. The other two had proven that despite my worst fears, they didn’t run into the first moving vehicle, or tumble from the tree, so I let it evolve a lot more naturally.
The opening to this novel is my favorite of the three. I think I managed to get a bit of a classic noir feel to it in places, too, which was very exciting for me.
And then there’s Soren Huxford.
Like Billy, I’ve always had a bit of a thing about “a cross between a denim-clad cowboy and a tall Viking warrior.” Unfortunately, I never met one in real life, so ta-da, I made one up!
