Chapter fifty four

1820 Words

~Elliot~ Two wolves came barrelling out of the second room that we checked on the third floor, one of them managing to take a bite out of the wolf that had decided to open the door even after I told him to hold. “You get back.” I gritted out as I grabbed hold of the rogue's jaw, prying it open before throwing him down the corridor, tugging the wolf back to his feet and placing him behind me for protection only for the door behind us to burst open. Shit. That side overlooked the garden, and I could not help but take a second to worry about what was happening elsewhere in the shelter. I knew better than to let myself become distracted and that momentary lapse cost me as I hissed out in pain, feeling the claws of the second rogue who had come out of the first room slice into my shoulder.
