I don’t think my legs have ever shaken quite so much as they did as I walked along the hallway, having answered back to Alpha Carter. I knew not being there to greet them for breakfast could be a risky option, but I had been so tired the night before that I had slept a lot later in the morning than I had planned. The moment I saw the time on my clock as I had woken up I knew my plans were not happening. I had to rush around to ensure that some of my daily chores were done before I left, or else I would suffer later once I arrived home.
