Anger had raced through me. But the instant Mari’s hand appeared within mine, I near flinched at the contact. Her skin felt so delicate against the course skin of my own palm. Her hand lingered within mine a moment or two longer than it needed to, and as she slipped it back into her pocket, I found myself missing its presence, yet not understanding why... Her big blue eyes were watching me. And my inside twisted in a way I did not know how to handle...
So, instead, I focused upon what she had said. Mari's words had surprised me once more. She was doing it again. Carefully thought out words. And, as I looked down at what it was she had placed my hands, I was met with the sight of a memory stick. I raised my gaze back to meet the uncertain gaze of Mari.
