“So, I met this girl on the way over here, stranded on the side of the road with her kid.” I start, stopping my pacing and turning to look down at him. We’re currently in the kitchen, him sitting at a table near the breakfast bar and me fuming in front of him. When I came in, Ben and Everest were in Ben’s room, drawing on a notebook on the floor.
