I watched as she walked in with Ace, the applause filling the room as they entered, her hand intertwined with his, both of them beaming like there was no tomorrow. How could I have been so blind? It was all right there in front of me, and yet I couldn't see it.
Her eyes locked onto mine as she passed by, a silent declaration of victory while I felt like I was losing everything. I wanted to rip away that smile from her face, to shatter the happiness and hope sparkling in her eyes. I wanted her to feel the pain she had inflicted on me, to scream in agony and beg for mercy. She had plenty of chances to back off, but she chose not to. I gave her too many opportunities.
