I paced outside the principal’s office, my anxiety mounting with each step. Nathan had just been released from the hospital, his face a mess of bruises and fractures. As I waited, Nathan's parents and Ace were inside, likely discussing what had happened. Ace's parents were still out of the country, leaving him without their support in this situation.
