"I don't want to hear anything. Step aside so I can leave," I told Marcus firmly.
He stepped forward, his expression pleading. "Bella, I understand why you're being distant with me, maybe even hating me, but please, hear me out. I deserve a chance."
"You're overestimating your significance, Marcus, if you think I've given you much thought," I replied, my tone sharp. "There's nothing to explain, and if I'm not interested in listening, for the last time, open the door. If Ace finds out you're behind this, I can't guarantee his reaction will be civil."
"I'm not scared of him, Bella. I need to tell you something," Marcus said, determination in his voice.
