Kayla and I remained silent even after Hayden and Dimitrov disappeared from our sights. I slowly stood up with a baffled mind. Kayla did the same.
“What is happening out there, Louisa?” She asked with knotted eyebrows.
“Start of another war, Kayla,” my lips uttered voluntarily.
“But they are only humans. How could they cross the border?” She raised the question again. I was wondering the same. Not only once, but this was the third time they invaded the Midlands. How could Hayden’s security be so fragile? Above all, they knew about Brumation and the poison that could kill a dragon.
The war was going on for a century, but no one ever had heard of these weaknesses. If the Northerns knew already, why didn’t they ever mention it to others? Everything about them was sheepish.
