“Did you find it?” Matt asked Lily as soon as she climbed back into his car.
She shook her head, fighting back the tears of frustration that had been building behind her eyes for the past twenty minutes. She’d searched her father’s bedroom top to bottom before moving on to the living room and kitchen, but she’d failed to find the money.
Lily had no idea where else the Alpha could have hidden it.
“I’m sorry,” Matt said, his voice soft. “We could try again tomorrow?”
“Yeah, maybe,” Lily agreed, but there was little hope in her tone.
