Lily knew that there were pack members who still weren’t on her side even after the events at her father’s trial. They usually just made their feelings known by sending her disdainful glares or by muttering the word ‘mutt’ as she passed them, but none of them had ever actually confronted her about it.
Until that morning, that was.
Lily and Finn were walking to the gym from where he’d parked the Jeep when Mr. Harley approached her and ruined what had started as a perfectly good day.
“Do you realize what your lies have done to me?” the man spat angrily, cutting her and Finn off at the entrance to the gym.
“What are you talking about?” Lily asked, taken aback by his rage.
Finn took a step forward, wordlessly letting Mr. Harley know that he would intervene if the man made a bad move.
