Ava looked away from Ian and shrugged her shoulders and said to her friends,
"I told him that I am with Luke."
Abigail shook her head. "But we all know that you don't feel anything for him. I told you to give him a chance, but with your heart, you can't make it happen, Ava. It will only hurt Luke at the end."
Ava realized that Abigail was right. She would not accept Ian, and she would not play with Luke either.
"But... I told him that I would give him a chance."
Ava's words caused Abigail and Debra to exchange glances. They sat back in their stools.
Abigail patted Ava's head and said,
"Ava, take your time. Think about what your heart wants. Go after what you want. If you want Luke, go after him. And if you want Ian—"
