Chapter 31 Rasulullah looks down, his expression perplexed. I stand up with Kate still in my hands. "He was mine!" he shouts across the bridge. "Allah saw his gesture, and was moved," I say. "You do not speak to Allah!" He whips up his handgun and fires it at me. With a sharp pew-ung, the bullet ricochets harmlessly off the pavement a hundred yards in front of me. "Allah says otherwise," I mock him. I am out of his effective firing range. He rushes towards me, his red beard like flames as he repeatedly fires and closes the distance. In a few more feet, he'll be able to hit me. I hold up the detonator Maximov just gave me so Rasulullah can see it. With a guttural war cry, he keeps on coming.
