LISAS POINT OF VIEW

Moments later, I open my eyes and look beside me to find Lisa asleep on the second bed in Nicarra's room. I look at Nicarra and find that she is sprawled on her bed with Seita perched close to her also asleep. Sometimes, I wonder if he's truly mine with how attached he is to her.

I open the door and walk out of the room with the intent to process all that has happened to Nicarra and I today, but find a pair of striking grey eyes staring down at me from a short distance in the hospital corridor. My enter body shivers in fright at the sight of him, and my heart races as memories of his earlier actions come back to me. He moves closer, but I step back, and he stops, looking down as he places both his hands in his pockets. Beside him stands the lycan prince whose presence stirs my siren, but apparently, he shares his brothers prejudice against hybrids.

'Forgive us for intruding', said the Lycan prince to me, 'but we were looking for my sister, and her scent has led us here.'

'She is sleeping in the room, as is my cousin Nicarra.'

'May I see her?'asks the dragon prince in his deep baritone voice. I look at him, still I standing in the way unsure of his intent.

'Please, we only wish to ensure her safety. We mean no harm to you or your friend, "says the lycan prince, moving closer to me. I stand aside, opening the door, and I move to switch on the light, but the lycan prince holds my hand, shaking his head. I feel my siren stir in my head singing, but then she retreats again. I remove my hand from his and step aside to make room for them to come in

They both bend down to get into the room, and the raven haired lycan prince looks at his sister, who continues to sleep unaware of the company we have.

The dragon prince places his hands in his pockets, staring at Nicarra. Could Sana be right? Could dark magic be at play here?

'I need you both to leave now. We all need to rest.' I whisper to the princes after a few minutes. The lycan prince looks at me and nods, but his brother continues to stare at Nicarra intensely, which frightens me.

'We will come for Lisa in the morning,' says the lycan prince, looking at me, and I nod. He walks towards the dragon prince, who shows reluctance to leave and tells him they need to return to his room before the hospital staff realise he is missing.

As they both step out of our room, Nicarra mumbles the words, 'Menace, please don't go', turning towards the door. Both princes stop abruptly and turn to look at her, but I swiftly walk to the door using my body to prevent them from coming back in. The dragon prince growls at me, but I stand my ground and say to him.

'Growl all you want, but I won't let you hurt her.'

The Lycan prince comes between us telling him again they both need to leave. The dragon prince walks slowly backwards and tells his brother to have guards stationed at our door before turning and walking away. I pull the sweater around me closer to keep out the chill I feel. The lycan prince closes his eyes for a few minutes, then turns to me and drags me by my hand, pulling me away from the room and saying angrily as we walk.

'Do you have any sense at all?! You stand defiantly in the face of a growling dragon at point blank range and taunt him and not just any dragon. The crown prince of dragons!'

We stopped in the middle of the hallway facing each other, and I responded equally as angry

'So what was the alternative. Allow his high and mighty to waltz back into the and reject a recovering girl in her sleep'

'You know', he whispered

'From the moment he rejected me, I knew, which is why I can not let him near her. Nicarra acts strong, but deep down, she is very fragile. I won't let him hurt her.'

'There is more to this than you think princess'

'Nyssa, my name is Nyssa'

'Nyssa, regardless of how you feel about my brother, I think he is right. I will have guards stationed here to protect you all.'

'Thank you, but it is unnecessary, I deliberately rejected siren guards from my father because I didn't want to feel suffocated. We have no reason to feel threatened and if the need does arise to protect ourselves. My sister and I are quite capable on our own.'

'This isn't a request. I am informing you that you, your cousin, and my sister will be protected until we figure out what is going on or we deem it safe for you all to move freely.' he responded, and several tall and huge men started coming into the corridor, taking different positions.

My patience snaps and wild winds begin to blow within the corridor. I walk slowly towards the prince, but he stands his ground unmoving.

'Listen, alpha', I say to him, my voice distorted by the merging of my powers

'My father is currently alpha, I am still a prince, but you can call me Lucas.'

'Lucas', I say poking his chest, 'I l have been grabbed, choked, and rejected, and my sister attacked and struck by lightning on the same night because of your brother. I am still trying to process all of those events, and now here you stand, forcing your will on me like I don't have a choice in the matter. Do not mistake my silence for lack of will.' I finish, releasing my aura for him to see just how serious I was. He holds my poking hand gently but firmly and responds.

'I would never disrespect you, Nyssa. I failed to protect you tonight. It is a guilt I will always carry; which is why I will not risk you getting hurt again. We will deliberate more on this arrangement in the morning, but like you said earlier, we all need to rest. So calm down and go back to your friends.'

He smiles at me, and I feel my heart constrict at the sight of him. I know there is no way to talk him out of this decision at this moment, so I simply sigh and head back into the room and lock the door.
