SCHOOL OF MAGICAL ENLIGHTENMENT

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

LUCAS POV

I sit in the bushes, looking up at her, watching her stare at the moon from her bedroom balcony. I know I'll get in trouble for leaving my room, but I can't help myself, inferno, and I long for her. He doesn't stop howlng in my head, asking me to go to her and claim her. I try to convince myself that I can't right now because the situation around me is complicated, but I know the truth. It's because I feel unworthy of her.

Nyssa is everything I have ever desired in a mate and so much more than I dreamed I could ever have. She is beautiful, smart, patient, caring, and even though she plays it down, I sense great power in her. I sleep with her sweater on my pillow every night because it is the only thing that helps me sleep, but when I close my eyes, her beautiful eyes haunt me in my dreams. I want her, I need her like the air I breathe, and it's getting harder for me to resist the bond. Inferno is driving me crazy.

She looks in my direction from her bedroom balcony, and I lower my head, my black fur making it easy to blend into the darkness. I hear Lisa's voice and her response, but I can not make out the words. I sense someone continuously tapping on my mind, trying to get through, so I open up in frustration at the disturbance.

'Someone had better be dying', I growl in an irritated tone.

'They better not for your sake,' my father replies.

'Dad! How'd you? How are you able to mind-link from home?'

'I would tell you, but you aren't in your room, which I am told you should be, given that you are under house arrest, which apparently you currently are not.'

'The school authorities are with you in my room?'

'Of course not! Your mother and I snuck in, but since you aren't here, we might as well use your your bed. Your mother is going into heat'

'Dad please dont', I respond in frustration

He starts laughing through the link and answers, 'Your mother and I just arrived at the dragons castle on the school premises, meet with us there. You are in enough trouble as it is Lucas, and right now, I can not protect you. I know you very well and I know you wouldn't break a law unless it is absolutely necessary but I am asking you as your father and your King to leave whatever it is you are doing and come here right now.'

'But dad'

'Now Lucas.'

'Yes sir,' I respond, defeated, closing the link

I look up at her and find her talking on the phone, smiling at something the person on the other line has said. Inferno whines at the thought of leaving her, and only after I convince him of our return does he move stealthily back to the dragon castle. As a lycan crown-prince, I have my own residence within the school, but given the situation with Warren, I stay with him at his castle. Inferno hates staying far away from our mate, and honestly, so do I. Who would have thought the day would come that I would feel this overwhelmed. I want to protect my mate, I want to protect my brother Warren, I want to protect my family and my people from an enemy I don't even recognize and the more I try to understand, the more difficult and complicated things get. I'm scared that one wrong move will cost me everything I hold dear to me, yet I can't just sit around and do nothing.

I reach the dragons lair just before sunrise and find that the security has increased tremendously. I shift back to my human form, dress up, and go up to my room to take a shower. Standing beneath the showers, I imagine her with me holding me from behind, telling me everything's going to be okay. I imagine her wrapping her arms around my neck as I lift her off the floor and taste her sweet lips, her moans filling my ears as I devour her. Closing my eyes, I moan her name pleasuring my self while inferno conjures up naked images of her in my head until I come undone beneath the showers, temporarily relieving myself of the s****l frustration I have been experiencing recently. I dress up and walk down the stairs, mind-linking my dad to find out his location.

'I'm with your mother in one of the study's on the second floor.' he replies, and after a few minutes of searching, I find them. My mother rushes to give me a bear hug and but when she releases me I find myself staring at an older woman with an uncanny resemblance with my mate, sitting extremely close to a well dressed, tall and handsome man. The man growls at me and my father smacks me at the back of my head saying, 'show some respect boy, that is princess Nadia, the mate of crown-prince Resus; future king of the sirens'.

I snap back to reality and bow, apologizing to them both, stating my surprise at her uncanny resemblance with her daughter. She giggles and replies that she gets that a lot and strokes her mates arm, trying to calm him, but her husband still gives me a hard stare, saying nothing.

'Good job i***t, you just nailed our chances with our future father-in-law', Inferno says to me sarcastically.

'Shut up, fur ball', I respond

'Do not be troubled, Prince Resus. Prince Warren may be a werewolf, but he is honourable and loyal to a fault. I vouch for his character, "says a female voice I am surprised to hear. I turn towards the direction of the voice and find the dragon queen sitting beside her husband, the dragon king, smiling at me.I bow to the ground and pay my respects to them both.

'He may be loyal but, the both of them cannot help getting into trouble the moment they are left unsupervised.' said the dragon king, but I didn't respond to him. I stayed in my bowed position with my hand to the ground.
