BROKEN DREAMS AND HOPE

1055 Words
Pain was all she felt. It flowed from within the depths of her soul, transforming into the periodic stretching of her muscles, causing ripples through her entire body. Oblivious to the noise and activity surrounding her, she closed her eyes, trying to focus on anything that would help her forget the pain she was experiencing, but the darkness only brought back her memories of him. His face, his smile, his words, his love, and his passion cost her everything and left her with nothing but pain. Tears threatened to spill from her eyes as the memories of the night that changed everything for her flashed before her eyes. Millenia had passed, but she hadn't seen nor heard from her lover. She had been chased and almost killed several times because of the child she carried, and not once did he come to rescue her. He had told her he was a celestial being. He had told her a union between the celestial and humans was forbidden, and the consequences were dire, but she didn't envisage that the price would be so great. Several attempts have been made to capture her, some to take her life, others to take her unborn child from her. She was forced to use her powers to stop the growth of her baby and change her appearance to confuse her would-be assailants, but even that choice came at a cost. She no longer aged and chose to live in isolation, watching from the shadows how humans and other creatures of the earth lived their lives and fought each other in a battle for dominance. Unable to bear the cries of the aftermath of war any longer, she went to the different realms and took the heirs to the throne of each one. Threatening the kings with the death of their sons if war were to arise again. The princes were raised together, ate together, trained together until slowly friendships blossomed, and past distrust was replaced by new bonds. After five years of training and studying together, the princes were allowed to return. She hoped that her plan would work and the little sparks she had placed in their hearts would ignite the ember of peace between the kingdoms. What she didn't anticipate was that several months later, emissaries from the different realms would arrive with royal children of different ages and offer to pay her to teach them. Thus, the school of Royal School of Magic was born, and she was no longer a fugitive constantly on the run. Her life had a purpose now, and she poured all of her love and energy into that purpose. As years passed, the reputation of the school grew, and its walls expanded. The school decided to hold a celebration to mark its three hundred years of existence. Kings arrived and played together like when they were boys with their former classmates. Old relationships were rekindled, and alliances based on life-long friendships were formed. She felt accomplished and, for the first time in a long time, truly happy. That night was the first time her lover came to her after being distant for so long. She woke up from her sleep and found a dark figure sitting on a chair facing her bed. She rushed to switch on her side lamp, but she heard his voice telling her no to. Tears filled her eyes upon hearing the sound of his voice, and they both sat for several minutes staring at each other before he spoke. 'Where is the child?,' he asked. 'There is no child,' she responded. 'You were never a good liar. It's one of your weaknesses,' he said, chuckling as he stood up. His eyes glowed red as he moved closer to her. 'You have fallen,' she whispered, pain evident in her voice. ''I have,' he responded, smiling. 'Why have you come here?' She asked in a forceful tone. 'I have come for my family, why else would I be here', he replied. She raised her hand to cast a spell, but he said to her. 'We both know that would be a wrong move. Your spells are like a beacon that pinpoints your exact location. We wouldn't want to risk the lives of your students, would we?' She looked at him with confusion written all over her face, but he looked back at her with a look of amusement, ' You didn't know?,' he asked. 'But you did,' she snapped, climbing out of bed to meet him. She pushed his chest angrily as she raged. 'You knew what I was going through. You saw what I had to endure. The constant running, the kidnapping, the near assaults by demons, and you did nothing to protect me. Why? "she asked, pushing him backwards. He looked at her with sorrow in his eyes, but he didn't respond to her question. He held her hands and drew her close to himself. His purple pupils turned red as he claimed her lips and kissed her passionately. She resisted him at first, but soon, she responded to his kisses. He took off her clothes and pulled off her turban to reveal her long snow-white hair. He fisted his hand around her hair, deepening the kiss. 'My beautiful enchantress. "You don't know how much I have missed you, let me show you,' he whispered as he lifted her off the floor and took her to bed, having his way with her several times and in various ways, until they were both sated. He pulled her close to him, comforting her as she wept on his chest till she fell asleep. She woke up to his absence but felt terrible back pain and realized that her hidden pregnancy had advanced overnight. Her belly was protruding like she was in her final trimester, and she felt her baby kick for the first time. She placed her hand on her belly as different emotions flooded her mind. She found a note on her bedstand with her name on it. She picked up the note and opened it. It read, 'Take care of our child. My heart beats only for you' She called on the help of one of her most talented students in confidence, and together they mapped out a plan of birthing and protecting the child in her womb.
