I’D ALWAYS THOUGHT that when faeries traveled by portal, they appeared somewhere in Faerie for a moment, and then created a second portal to their destination here. That was how it had been explained to me anyway. I lifted my head when the sounds of New York vanished, expecting to see a lush green forest or a glimpse of the Unseelie court.
