It’s what she thought she heard, and truth be told, what she wanted to.
But something inside of her begged the question. It wanted to know for sure that this was more than the soft moments where he held her all night, and certainly not anchored by lust instead of love. It irked her that even now after the last few months they had been together that her insecurities blocked their shining moments. It should have been a “Yes! I’d love to!” not a, “Do you really mean that?”
She swallowed back the hurt that it caused her to even say it and hoped that Daniel hadn’t taken it poorly either. Instead of letting it rush out, she held that in, sure that people didn’t think these things.
