*Marco’s POV*
I run back to the castle and go directly to the medical ward. But my heart sinks when I see that Gabriella isn't there.
A nurse approaches me “she is in your room. We have sent guards up to watch over her until you return.” I nod at her and turn to leave “and what of the luna?” I ask, hoping she has received the best care. The nurse smiles up at me “she is in the private ward with her children” I smile, then walk away. I go up the stairs to the room as the guard bows to me.
I walk past them and open the door, and my breath hitches when I see Gabriella lying in bed. I walk to her and kiss her forehead, then sit by her side, not wanting to take my eyes off her. I look out the window over the kingdom and see the smoke coming from chimneys and listen to the children laughing
