I opened the door, my aunt and Zane stopped talking and looked at me. It didn't take much to realize that they didn't want me to hear what they were talking about, which I find surprising, because they don't know each other well enough to have secrets.
But at the same time, I know for a fact that my aunt is keeping a lot of secrets from me. When Zane mentioned his father's name, she lost it. She is scared of that man and she won't even tell me why.
Not only that, but I cannot ignore the fact that Zane is also keeping secrets from me. If I didn't know better, I would say that the people in my life are plotting to keep the truth away from me.
