“Aubrey? Aubrey! AUBREY!” My name being spoken in thrice would be the cause for my eyes to pry open as I would find an intense pain shoot from one side of my temples and connect to the other. It would take a moment for my eyes to cease their flickering and adjust to the low ambiance of a single hanging bulb set just out of reach from me to make the sight of a silhouette crouched in front of me. It was only when I was able to keep my eyelids parted for more than a few seconds each time that my head was able to find a lift that the voice would speak to me again. Only now, when the hazy shake of my gaze would finalize into a steady rest, I noted who was summoning me awake, as she would be met with a glare.
