We arrived at the collective last night and the man that I assumed was Nicky's cousin showed us to a cottage. I again tried to reject the mate bond and pack when we reached the border, but the words would not come out. Tears streamed down my face as Nicky rubbed circles on my back. I feel like I will never be free of him. I can never repay Nicky for the kindness she has shown me. As I lay on the soft mattress, I place my hands over my still flat belly.
