“What is it?” Shane’s Alpha could hear her confusion in Michelle’s question.
“It’s a surprise, baby. I can’t go ruining something like that,” he smirked.
A sigh came through the line as if it had already been a s**t show of a day. “Alpha Beach. You’ve reached Officer Bisenger,” Briana answered sharply.
“Is that really how you talk to an old friend?”
“Shut up, Scherer?” Shane could practically hear her grin. “How’ve you been?”
“A lot better these days.”
“Oh?”
“Yeah,” he chuckled and pulled Michelle closer to him. He wanted her to know, solidly, that she was the reason. “Ketten’s back.”
