Kalliope’s POV:
Waking up was weird, and not just because I felt sore all over like someone had run over me with all the magic they had. No, it felt weird because I couldn’t quite work out for a while where I was, the fluorescent lights reminding me too much of where I’d been before. Of the prison-like room that had no air and left me feeling like I was trapped beyond reach. Panicking immediately I look around for something to anchor me back to reality but I don’t see anything else to make me figure out where I was. Nor to calm me. Now thoroughly terrified I find that Lana’s trying her hardest to keep me up but she’s still not as strong as I’d like her to be given what happened to us before I woke up here.
