“Hey.” Bethany sat down next to me with a groan sometime later. I’m pretty sure I had dozed off, because someone had started a campfire, and a meal was now cooking. I couldn’t tell how much time had passed, however. It could have been twenty minutes, it could have been two days. I was in that dazed state of barely being conscious, where everything felt a little dreamlike, and I couldn’t quite pull myself out of it. “I thought you might like to know that Morax, Stolas, Barbatos and Amy managed to get all the remaining women and kids out. The kid helped show them where the prisoners were kept.” I straightened abruptly.
