Days spent just existing, his limbs pinned to his side as though they would break if he dared flex even a muscle, an oxygen mask cemented to his face, and his eyes open, but unfocused. He’d seen nothing of the bustling nurses or the constant back and forth of visitors to the patients in the beds next to him, nothing but the look on Tazia’s face as she’d stuck that knife in his side.
