Begging In Silence

Chapter Four.

Thane's P.O.V

I'm woken up by my phone ringing.

"Hello?" I say with a groggy voice.

"I'm thirty minutes away."

"Okay." Getting up I take a shower and mind link Noah and Olivia to come to the house. I go to the gate and let aunt Miley in while they Lee watch outside.

"Hey." She hugs me.

"Hey, this way." Heading to the house we're greeted by my father and mother. "Please move out of the way." Olivia and Noah start approaching but I tell them not to.

"Mom, dad, don't do this." Ares says from inside the house, eventually they move and we all get in. It takes everyone a while to settle down but once they do we actually start talking to one another.

"I know me being here isn't exactly ideal for any of us but if Thane needs my help then I'm going to help him, with or without your go ahead." Then she turns to me. "Well, you got me here, what's the matter?"

"As you may have heard, Ares and I inherited our parents' powers but unlike Ares, mine are a little hard to control."

"What do you mean?" I start explaining everything to her from the very beginning, not leaving anything out. She looks at our parents. “Why am I only hearing about this now? Is our relationship strained that much that you’d keep something so troublesome from me?”

“We thought we could handle it.” My mother says through gritted teeth. Ares and I look at them.

“What does she mean? What is she talking about?” Ares asks but I already know the answer.

“This has happened before hasn’t it.” No one says anything. I chuckle in disbelief. “It has.” I look at dad.

“Has it? And you said NOTHING?!” I can feel his wolf itching to come out. If I don’t stop him now-

“Ares.” Amber says walking through the door. I have never been so happy to see her.

“Amber what are you doing here? How did you know I was here?” Her mother asks. Her eyes stay focused on Ares as she makes her way to him. Taking a hold of his hands she forces him to look at her.

“Ares, I need you to calm down.”

“Amber I need you to leave right now before Rex comes out.” He says through gritted teeth.

“And go where? Because we both know there isn’t a hole I can hide in where he won’t find me.” Holding his face she brings her forehead to his. “Rex, I need you to listen to me, I need you to calm down for me okay.” I sigh feeling him calm down.

“Amber, what’s going on? What is this?” Aunt Miley asks, looking as confused as our parents.

“Are you guys going to tell them or should I?” I ask them and they keep quiet.

“Tell us what Thane?” I can already tell dad knows what I’m going to say.

“Ares and I are together.” The truth is Ares and Amber shouldn’t be together, because she’s not his mate and they know that but Ares’s wolf, Rex, somehow listens to Amber. The way he would listen to his mate. And even though I too warned Ares about this, they couldn’t stop themselves from getting attached to each other. Now he loves her.

“What the f**k are you talking about?!” His Alpha voice booms through the room.

“Sebastian calm down please.” I watch mom walk across the room and slap aunt Miley right across the face.

“Mom!” I protest standing up.

“Don’t you dare tell MY MATE to calm down, I bet this is your doing! It has you written all over it.”

“Excuse me?! Why would I set up my own daughter to have her heart broken? I know how this ends remember?!”

“Enough!” I command and everyone looks at me. “Mom, dad, leave.”

“Thane we-”

“No, I need you guys to leave.”

“Thane’s right Mom, dad, this isn’t about me or Amber, it’s about him but you guys can’t see past this situation so, I think it would be best if you and dad left.” As our mother looks at me, there’s a painful expression on her face that I’ve never seen before. I bet she thinks we’re choosing aunt Miley over her, she doesn’t know that we’d never do that. That to us her and dad are everything.

“Mom.” I say holding her in my arms. “I love you and to me it’ll always be you but I need you to trust me, to trust us. Okay.” Looking into my eyes she nods and dad takes her out of the room. “Give it to me straight.”

Miley’s P.O.V

“Give it to me straight.” Looking into his eyes I can’t bring myself to tell him what I actually think.

“Right now the only thing I know is that you need to get control over your powers before it’s too late.”

“Why?” Ares asks and I look at Amber, I still can’t believe she’d do something so stupid! After I warned her not to do something like this.

“The littler control he has over his powers the more damage it’ll do to him and his wolf. This is putting a strain on him and Lex.” If this continues he’ll actually lose Lex, because whoever is taking over does not want to share Thane, with anyone.

“Why do I feel like there is a lot you’re not telling us.” Thane looks straight into my eyes. “Miley, what aren’t you telling me?” He uses his Alpha voice. Gritting my teeth I don’t look away.

“I don’t have all the answers right now but when I do of course you’ll be the first to know.” He nods, giving me space.

“Ares, you and Amber owe mom and dad an explanation as to what this is because all of us in this room know the history between the three of them. She is our mother and cater to her feelings we will. Am I understood.” Amber bows her head and so do I, Ares nods, showing he’ll do as his brother says. Division of authority must be hard between these two, especially when it comes so naturally to Thanatos.

“Amber let’s go.” Leaving we get in the car and drive off. The air is filled with an uncomfortable silence.

“Mom I-”

“I don’t want to hear it Amber, I don’t care what the reason is either.”

“I love him Mom and he loves me.”

“No matter how much you might think he loves you Amber, that love will be like a puddle compared to the ocean of love he’ll feel for his mate, when he finds her. You will mean nothing to him and you won’t even begin to compare.”

“Ares isn’t his father Mom! He would never do that.”

“No he’s not, which is why I know he will.” I can’t help but grip the steering wheel tighter just thinking about it. I might be against all of this but I do know one thing, that when he breaks her heart there’ll be hell to pay.
